In the midst of the rapidly changing urban landscape of San Francisco, a group of kids from the Potrero Public Housing community worked together to come up with a large-scale mural design that reflects what is most important to them: family, friends, unity, nature, and enjoyment. Murals beautify neighborhoods, teach skills and empower children through cooperative creativity. The purpose of this mural, specifically, is to enrich and inspire the lives of children and their community through art and to make their route on the way to the bus safer and more beautiful as part of the Walking School Bus Initiative.
